I know it's been a while since I've posted pics. Sometimes, life can get really REAL and then you end up getting sidetracked. Fortunately, my distraction was bettering myself as a person and honing in on my craft - photography. During all the time off, I picked up on my Converse Series photos which is also known as the Walk In My Shoes series. I started another series of photos called The Brick Series. This series is a collection of photos that I've been shooting around NYC. It focuses on the people and places that inspire me and the foundation in which the inspiration was started. All buildings start with a base/foundation, and after layers and work are applied to these foundations, it becomes a beautiful structure. Hence the name Brick Series.
Working closely with my mentor Nasilele has taught me to have patience in the things I choose to photograph and that all shots don't necessarily have to be rushed. It's truly about the composition. One of the things I am most proud of is that I get to be one of the guest artists for an art exhibit called The Cultivated Canvas which features Nasilele, an extremely talented artist named Kerream Jones and myself! The exhibit takes place on July 11th - 13th, 2014. We are extremely excited to display the things we've been working on. After the show is done, I will post the pieces I contributed to the exhibit here as well as a few photos taken during the 3 day event. Feel free to stop by and get your much needed 'fix' of art from three young, talented and upcoming artists.

I shot my mentor/friend
As someone looking to become a well established photographer, I would highly recommend taking classes and learning from one of your favorites in the business. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Nasilele, through a mutual friend, who is the owner and sole Photographer at Nasilele Photography located in Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, NY. What intrigued me about her work is her composition and use of natural light.
She presented me with the opportunity to take a few photos of her and her son, Ajani. I guess I stepped up to the challenge and met it to her liking... She used a couple of the photos on her annual Christmas Cards! Thank you, Nas for the opportunity and I am looking forward to working with you again.

Beach Bummin'
On a random summer day, I decided to go to the beach with a dear friend. Not many photos were taken, but this one was captured of me. I make some of the silliest faces and ridiculous poses. Needless to say I am very UNphotogenic, LOL!!! But, I did enjoy this shot of myself that I wanted to share...
Him... Her... Forever More!
My Bestie and her Fiance got married!!! Never have I met a couple who are more deserving of each other. I was lucky enough to capture this image of them during their union ceremony. I wish them all the blessings in the world. Their love is undeniably beautiful!!!!!
